My name is Carl, and I would like to welcome you to the official "Chronicles of Ashara" online internet forum. The purpose of this forum is to serve as the new website for the Chronicles of Ashara online role-playing game.
Some of you may already know what The Chronicles of Ashara is. For those of you who do not, please let me inform you. Chronicles of Ashara - better known as The Veil of Shadows - is the brainchild of a close friend, Steven Mahoney, which was conceived as an anthropomorphic role-playing Yahoo! Group many years ago. It was mildly successful for a time, but fell into obscurity as its members lost interest, and its Co-Owner locked it due to unknown reasons. The group was resurrected as "The Veil of Shadows - Chronicles of Ashara," and was likewise successful until Yahoo! enacted a radical change to their Groups feature. The group has since gone silent, and is considered "dead." In both its iterations, Players were immersed into the high-fantasy world of Ashara, were sapient anthropomorphic animals outnumbered the more traditional fantasy races - Humans, Dwarves, Halflings, Elves, Orcs, etc. While many stories were told during the course of the groups, the focus was on the Players using their characters to unite the various nations of Ashara, in hopes to being able to push back the armies of an individual known only as "The Warlock King." Sadly, as with many Yahoo! Groups, the games were abandoned, and the groups went silent far before the main story was complete.
